It is now common knowledge that Warner Bros. is going ahead with the release of its $200 million dollar film The Flash, despite all the controversy surrounding its lead star, Ezra Miller.
Not only are DC fans finding it hard to grasp the fact that the film will still see the light of day, but with Miller playing DC's fastest man, many can't help but look at the actor.
Got a slap. His wrists for his controversial actions, which are nothing compared to Hollywood's reaction to Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars.
While Smith's inability to control his anger for 20 seconds led to him being banned from the academy for the next ten years, Miller was pardoned for his poor decisions. From facing charges of drug possession, restraining orders to openly assault people, and implicating minors, Miller has long been the center of many controversies. Needless to say, they are drawing some very negative attention to the film and are partly responsible for all the bleak predictions of the DCEU's future.
And yet, it looks like it's all already in the past recently after Miller met with Warner Bros. chairpersons Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdi to apologize for the way they've been behaving. . , As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, what prompted Miller to clean up his act was learning that The Flash could be canceled as a result.
Apparently, the actors "were not bothered by the stream of bad headlines, they were concerned with the perception of the film's cancellation and the flurry of action."
So, yeah, that looks like all Miller will be facing. Meanwhile, several reports emerged about the development of Will Smith projects - such as Netflix's thriller Fast and Lose and Sony Pictures' Bad Boys 4 - being put on hold following the Oscar failure. Smith's fans have pointed out how unfairly the actor has been treated, highlighting that one of his acts has paled in comparison to Miller's.
Discovery CEO David Zaslav also upset many people by telling how "very excited" he is for the upcoming The Flash, which he says is "amazing."
Some are trying to find a logical reason why Will Smith and Ezra Miller were treated differently.
